A Swiss online casino comparison starts with the exact authorised website. A familiar brand, a German-language interface or a balance displayed in Swiss francs does not establish Swiss approval. This guide explains the checks behind our Swiss edition: official authorisation, CHF accounting, bonus turnover, verification and withdrawals. It is an information resource for adults, not a recommendation to deposit or a prediction of winnings.
Sources checked on 6 September 2026. This article concerns Switzerland. German and Austrian rules must not be substituted for Swiss rules simply because all three countries have German-speaking readers. All monetary examples below are hypothetical calculations, not verified promotions or personally measured payments.
Start with the Swiss regulator
The Swiss Federal Gaming Board, known in German as the ESBK, publishes an overview of online casinos. Its explanation states that Swiss casinos need an extension to their concession to offer games online, together with the necessary game approvals. Start from the official listing and compare the precise website you intend to visit. A different country domain or a similarly named brand may represent a different service.
The regulator’s questions and answers explain that a website absent from its online casino list is not a Swiss-authorised online offering. That is a positive-list check: the absence of a browser warning is not evidence of approval. Record the domain, operator name and date of the check, rather than saving only a promotional logo.
Partner registration countries are a separate question
Our partner dashboard review found Switzerland excluded by GG.BET. The 22Bet registration list included Switzerland, but that entry did not establish Swiss authorisation. Consequently, neither finding provides a basis for presenting those brands as authorised Swiss casino recommendations in this guide. A language selector, referral link or successful registration screen cannot answer the regulatory question on its own.
This distinction matters when comparing country editions. A promotion on an Austrian page should not automatically appear on a Swiss page. The same applies to payment assumptions and bonus rules. A country edition is useful only when its information retains the relevant local context. Readers should be able to understand an information page even when it contains no enabled commercial offer.
Check three currencies, not one symbol
First identify the actual currency of the player account. Next check the currency charged by the payment provider. Finally identify the currency of a withdrawal received by your bank. A CHF display does not necessarily prove that all three stages are denominated in francs. Conversion costs can arise outside the casino, including through a bank or card provider.
Suppose your entertainment budget is CHF 40. The final amount charged to your bank account, including any applicable cost, counts towards that budget. Do not increase the planned gambling amount to compensate for an exchange-rate difference. Save the transaction confirmation showing the amount, currency and date. This gives you a concrete record if the amount credited to the casino differs from the amount charged.
| Check | Record before deciding |
|---|---|
| Account currency | Actual accounting currency, not only the display setting |
| Deposit | Amount charged, fees, minimum and account ownership |
| Withdrawal | Available route, currency, minimum and limits |
| Verification | Documents requested and the confirmed upload channel |
| Bonus | Turnover basis, game contribution, expiry and exclusions |
Read a CHF bonus as a calculation
Consider a hypothetical CHF 50 deposit and CHF 50 bonus with a 30-times turnover requirement. If the multiplier applies only to the bonus, the required qualifying turnover is CHF 1,500. If it applies to deposit plus bonus, it is CHF 3,000. Those are materially different conditions despite having the same deposit, bonus amount and multiplier in the headline.
Turnover is the total of qualifying stakes. It is neither the initial deposit nor a guaranteed loss. Meeting a turnover condition still involves repeated exposure to losses, and a game’s theoretical long-run return does not predict the result of one session. Do not treat the displayed bonus as cash that will definitely be available for withdrawal.
Game contribution is another separate rule. With a hypothetical contribution of 20%, CHF 100 of stakes would count as CHF 20 towards the requirement. Also check the maximum permitted stake, excluded games, expiry, any cap on bonus-derived withdrawals and what happens if you cancel the bonus. A comparison without these fields cannot reliably explain which conditions are more restrictive.
Separate the stages of a withdrawal
A withdrawal has several timestamps: the request, the operator’s review, release of the payment and receipt by the bank or payment provider. An advertised processing time may refer to only one stage. Weekends, incomplete verification or the receiving payment service may affect different parts of the process. This guide does not claim a personally tested withdrawal speed.
Check the withdrawal route before making a deposit. A method accepted for deposits may not support withdrawals. Compare the account-holder name, applicable limits and required identity documents. Use only the operator’s confirmed document channel. If a message sends you to an unfamiliar upload site, verify the request through the known support route before transmitting personal information.
Make mobile confirmations deliberate
On a phone, starting a game, increasing a stake, accepting a bonus and authorising a payment should be distinguishable actions. Re-read the amount before confirmation. Enlarge text if conditions are truncated and dismiss overlapping dialogs before continuing. A large or brightly coloured button does not reduce the need to understand what it confirms. Stop when a page shifts unexpectedly or a field’s meaning is unclear.
Keep the budget independent of the promotion
Set both a money limit and an end time before opening a game. Essential spending, bills and savings are outside that budget. A loss limit remains a loss limit even if a bonus appears close to completion. Record deposits and withdrawals separately instead of judging your spending from the final balance alone. Neither recent wins nor recent losses make the next random result predictable.
If you repeatedly move your limits, try to recover losses or hide your gambling, pause and seek independent help. The ESBK provides information about exclusions and support resources. An exclusion should not become a reason to try another operator or domain. Relatives can also seek advice.
A complete comparison can end without a deposit
A useful record contains an officially matched domain, the date checked, the real account currency, payment routes and the material bonus terms. Mark missing information as unresolved. Compare two offers using the same fields and units. A larger headline amount does not fill an evidence gap. Declining a promotion, or deciding not to use the service, is a complete outcome of the comparison.
