An RTP number copied from a review may not describe the version offered in a particular game session. Record the in-game rules and the exact product configuration. A familiar title or provider logo is not enough to establish the active mathematical setting.
Open the game information
Look for the rules or help panel and find the return-to-player statement. Record the game title, provider, mode and date. If no value is displayed, mark it unverified rather than importing a value from a similarly named release.
Compare the scope
A base game, bonus purchase or special mode may have a separate figure. Read the label beside the number. A maximum or optional-mode RTP should not be presented as the default configuration without evidence.
Interpret the percentage
RTP describes an average over a very large body of play, not the amount any person will recover in a session. A hypothetical 96% figure does not promise a 96-unit return from your next 100 units of stakes. Actual short-term outcomes can vary widely.
Keep a source trail
For a review, save the provider reference and the operator's displayed game rules separately. Explain a discrepancy instead of averaging the figures. Recheck after game updates. None of these checks establishes local legality, account eligibility or a reliable income opportunity.
Create a configuration identity card
Record the game title exactly as displayed, provider, operator domain, currency or credit mode, device and date of observation. Add the version identifier if the help panel exposes one. Then record the RTP figure with the sentence or label that explains its scope. A screenshot of a title screen alone does not establish the configuration. Keep the help-panel evidence and provider reference separate because they may describe different deployments. If an operator offers several versions under a familiar name, do not merge their figures in a comparison. An unverified configuration should remain unverified even when a widely quoted percentage is easy to find elsewhere.
Distinguish a theoretical average from your ledger
The Gambling Commission explains return to player as an average over a large number of plays rather than a personal-session guarantee. That distinction means your observed short session cannot confirm or disprove a documented percentage. In a hypothetical mathematical description, 96 percent RTP refers to the relationship between aggregate stakes and returns under the specified model over extensive play; it does not promise that an individual depositing 100 units will withdraw 96. Stakes can also circulate through repeated rounds, so deposits and total wagers are not identical measures. Keep these quantities separate when explaining the number to a reader.
Do not average conflicting versions
Suppose a provider reference lists one percentage while the in-game help for the observed operator lists another. Averaging them produces a number that may describe neither configuration. Instead, report the discrepancy and identify which source corresponds to the actual game being discussed. Check whether one figure belongs to a bonus mode, another jurisdiction or an older version. If the difference cannot be resolved, state the limitation and avoid a precise ranking based on it. A review can be useful by showing where the evidence stops; it does not need to fill every comparison cell with a guessed value.
Keep optional modes in separate rows
A feature purchase or alternative mode may have a distinct rules description and theoretical return. Put the default mode and each verified alternative in separate rows with their own evidence. Do not use a maximum advertised figure as the headline for a mode that has not been checked. The same caution applies to a range: a range of available configurations does not identify the one currently offered. If the control changes the cost as well as the mode, record that separately. A mathematical return percentage is not a recommendation to select the option with a larger number, particularly when the upfront amount exposed to loss changes.
Recheck after a meaningful change
A new operator, game update or visibly revised help panel is a reason to verify the identity card again. Keep the prior observation dated rather than silently replacing it. A routine refresh should focus on the source fields that could have changed, not on running paid rounds to estimate the mathematics. A short sequence of outcomes cannot perform that verification. If a review remains online, label the scope of the last check clearly so readers can compare it with their own current screen. Do not imply continuous monitoring when the evidence comes from one observation on one date.
Keep eligibility outside the mathematics
Even a verified RTP statement does not establish that an operator is licensed for a reader's location, that the person meets age requirements or that an account can withdraw funds. Those are independent questions with their own primary sources and terms. Global English editorial content does not grant access to any market. Avoid using a mathematical percentage as shorthand for safe, fair for every user or suitable to play. The bounded conclusion is that a specified source states a figure for a specified configuration. Financial risk remains, and the reader can stop at understanding the information without opening an account or spending money.
